Namibia is such a big country that it is senseless to try to see it all in week or ten days. If you do, you will spend most of the time on the road instead of relaxing and enjoying yourself. We will arrange any length of tour, at any time of year (our summer months are very hot) to suit your requirements.
However, we can also accommodate larger groups of guests who have the same interests and wish to travel as a group because a larger vehicle can be hired. Tours are conducted in English, but you do not have to be English speaking, as long as there is one person amongst the group who can act as interpreter.Your tour begins (and ends) when we fetch you from the Hosea Kutako International Airport , 40 km east of Windhoek. You will be assured of a personalized, stress-free holiday where all arrangements have been taken care of i.e. Transport, Accommodation, Meals, Entrance Fees to National Parks and Tourist Sites, Water in the vehicle and VAT - just sit back and enjoy yourself .
Accommodation ranges from B&B, Guest Houses, Guest Farms, Lodges and Hotels - everything from very simple to 5-star but with the emphasis on good food and clean accommodation. We can offer anything to suit your pocket, again with the emphasis on quality and personal attention.
The best time to visit Namibia is during the April - September (our winter months) as the day time temperatures are pleasant (15-30°C) with cool evenings. April - June is our low season and it is then quite easy to obtain accommodation. The month of August is European holiday season and bookings will have to be made at least a year in advance to secure accommodation, especially in the Etosha National Park. Summer temperatures are extremely hot but some folk do not seem to mind that as they prefer the hot weather to the cold and wet.
Pieter is also a qualified NATH (Namibia Academy of Tourism & Hospitality) tour guide and has an Hons. Degree in Wildlife Management and he spent 30 years in the wildlife conservation field, both in Government and in private practice, before his retirement in 2000. He has expert knowledge of the Namibian fauna and flora as well as a passion for the land and the people, which he enjoys sharing with our guests. He will lead the tours personally whenever possible, but if we need to use other guides, then only properly NATH accredited Namibian guides will be employed.
Travel will be in a very comfortable, air-conditioned VW Micro-Bus (or similar vehicle) which can seat 6 passengers comfortably (provided they bring soft luggage bags). The vehicle is equipped with a portable refrigerator for the food and refreshments en route. Our vehicles are serviced regularly and are fitted with larger tyres for safe and comfortable driving on gravel roads (most travelling in Namibia will be on well-maintained gravel roads). We carry comprehensive insurance for our vehicles and Public Liability Cover according to the EU directive, but guests are required to take out their own private insurance as well. For larger groups a small bus will be hired.
